Foul Time

A method of establishing working limits through exclusive use of the track in which notification is given and recorded by the train dispatcher or block operator to an employee that no trains will operate within a specific segment of controlled track during a specific time period, and the required blocking devices have been placed on the control machine to protect the track fouled. Foul time must remain in effect until the employee to whom the foul time was issued has reported clear of the track.
